Young Women Christmas Gift Idea (Permanent Bracelets)
Looking for a meaningful and budget-friendly Young Women Christmas gift idea? See how we created a Christ-centered activity with permanent jewelry, star charms, a heartwarming lesson, and a hot cocoa bar—all for just $11 per person!

When we started planning our Young Women Christmas gift, we wanted it to be something meaningful, memorable, and Christ-centered.
With December being such a busy month, we also knew it needed to be simple enough to tie into one of our Sunday lessons. What we ended up with was a beautiful activity that included a short devotional, a heartfelt gift with symbolic meaning, and a fun surprise the girls absolutely loved.
In this post, I’ll share exactly what we gave the girls, how we tied it into a Christ-centered message, how we pulled off the activity, and a full cost breakdown to help you plan something similar in your ward or stake.
YW Gift Idea

When we were brainstorming ideas for our Christmas gift to the girls, I thought getting them some of my favorite scripture stickers would be a good idea. I use the stickers every day during my personal study and they are so helpful.
However, the rest of my presidency brought up that some of the girls may not use physical scriptures to study and we wanted the gift to be something they would all be excited about.
One of my counselors happens to do permanent jewelry and said she could do bracelets for the girls at cost. We even decided to get charms to add onto the bracelets and it made the whole idea come together perfectly!
Matching Lesson and Activity

December is already a busy month and because of the nature of the gift we wanted to give the girls, we knew we needed to do it at an activity. All of our Tuesday activities were already planned out so we decided to give them a gift during one of our Sunday lessons.
But to really make it meaningful and Christ-centered, we created a lesson and activity to tie everything together.
To start, one of my counselors gave a 5 minute lesson on the star of Bethlehem and how the star led everyone to Christ. She talked about the significance of the star and how it can represent the Light of Christ that all of us have inside.
Next, I introduced the gift we were giving the girls and how the charm looks like the star of Bethlehem but should also remind girls about the Light of Christ that they have with them.
We also printed some stationary for the girls to write letters to Christ, instead of the traditional letters to Santa.
Then we treated the girls to a hot chocolate bar!
This was all a surprise and the girls loved it!
Cost

The cost for everything was $221! This was for at total of 23 girls and leaders, so it came out to about $11 per person. Here is the cost breakdown:
- Stationary and envelopes – $14
- Star charms – $40
- Bracelet chain – $197
- Hot chocolate bar – FREE (everything was donated by the leaders)
Not every ward is going to have budget leftover for a gift like this, but we had actually hadn’t spent very much since girls’ camp that summer so we money leftover we needed to use.
The best way we saved money on this gift was because my leader does permanent jewelry professionally, but you could grab these “Look Unto Christ” necklaces that have the same charm on them and are a lot cheaper!
