Inside: If you’re in search of an affordable eyelash enhancing serum, this post is a must read! A good eyelash enhancer doesn’t have to break the bank. This is the eyelash enhancer every woman should try!

Who doesn’t want longer, fuller lashes?? I know I do! I’ve tried so many different lash growth products and have combed through so many eyelash serum reviews, but I finally found an eyelash enhancing serum that works to give you eyelashes anyone would be envious of!

(Be sure to check out all of my other skin and beauty tips for busy moms, here!)

My first experience with trying to get longer lashes was in high school. I tried to put strip lashes on for my senior prom and it was a mess! There was glue and mascara everywhere! I didn’t try strip lashes again until just recently because it was such a bad experience!

Just last year I wash lucky enough to win lash extensions and I absolutely loved them! However they are very expensive and time consuming to keep up. My first appointment was 3 hours! There’s no way I could keep that up every 3-4 weeks.

Plus, when my extensions fell off, my lashes looked super bare and sparse. I hated it! To help my lashes grow back I tried the Rodan and Fields Lash Boost serum. It definitely worked and I even became a consultant because of it (I no longer am FYI). However, this particular eyelash enhancing serum is crazy expensive ($150 retail) and it burned my eyes when I first started using it. For those reasons I stopped.

Then I decided to try magnetic lashes. They were super full and fun, but really tough to get on. It was tricky to match each magnet up exactly to get them as close to my lash line as possible. I think I finally got the application down and then my daughter ripped one of the magnets off lol. So much for those!

I had noticed my friend’s gorgeous long lashes for awhile and finally decided to ask her if she used an eyelash enhancer serum. She did and said it was only $18! I was super skeptical at first and even more skeptical when she said it was actually eye drops. I figured for $18 it was worth a try. After all of the other eyelash products I had used, I missed my long lashes and wanted them back!

What is the Best Eyelash Growth Serum?

I started using the Careprost eye drops as an eyelash enhancing serum at the end of January and three months later my lashes are definitely longer! This eyelash enhancer works! In the comparison photo I had already been using the lash growth product for more than a month, but you can definitely see the additional eyelash growth, especially on my left eye! It even made my eyebrows grow in a little too. Not quite as dramatic as my lashes, but I still got some growth that I didn’t have before. I feel like the look a little different than they did when I used Lash Boost and I like the difference!

Don’t tell on me, but I don’t take my eye makeup off before bed (shhh!). So I just apply the eyelash enhancer serum after I take my makeup off when I’m washing my face in the morning. I add one drop to the top of the lid, swipe that on my lash line and brows, let it dry and that’s it! Amazing growth!

Careprost is a Glaucoma medication that helps reduce pressure in the eye, but it’s also contains the same main ingredient that Latisse eyelash serum does!

$120 vs. $18?? Which one would you pick?

And with shipping it’s actually around $24, but that still is a killer deal!

The best makeup to enhance eyelashes

Once you’ve used the eyelash enhancing serum to get  those long, natural lashes, you can really make them pop with an amazing mascara! My favorite is the L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Primer and Lash Paradise combo! I’ve never used a primer before, but it helps add an extra coat so the mascara stays on better and looks thicker. And the Lash Paradise mascara is amazing!! The brush separates and coats my lashes perfectly. I also use the spoolie end of this eyebrow pencil to really separate and brush out my lashes.

I have noticed that the mascara dries out a little sooner than my other mascaras, but I just add a few drops of Careprost to the tube and it’s as good as new. Plus, it gives my lashes a little more growth!

I love reading your blog, thank you, it is very useful. I use dermalmd eyelash serum, and it has been a success, they are more populated and strengthened, they have not caused me any adverse effects.

Hi Maria! Thank you for your kind words. And for your recommendation. I'll have to try that one!

Dermalmd is the only eyelash enhancing serum that works for me. It also works very well on my eyebrows. I have very blond hair, so this helps add some color to both eyelashes and eyebrows. It takes about 6-8 weeks to really start seeing results, but then I can decrease my use to every other day.

Thanks for the rec Carissa! I'll have to try that out. My brows are so thin and sparse and I haven't found anything yet that helps.

So you aren't dropping it in your eyes though, you're swiping it on your lash line?

No dropping it in my eyes! I have a small brush (you can see it in the picture with the mascara tubes) and I just put a small drop on the tip of the lid and swipe on like eye liner!

Wait whaaaaat?!?! That’s amazing! Is it ok to use the stuff if you don’t have Glaucoma though?? I mean safety-wise? I so want to try this, the price on the R&F stuff is definitely what stopped me from trying it!

I believe so! From what I read it's just eye drops! I haven't had any issues and since the active ingredient is the same that's in Latisse I think it's safe! It's been a great alternative for me :)
