Concept

Two paper plate animal crafts on wood table.

If you’ve ever seen the Food Network show Chopped, this challenge is exactly like that, but with craft supplies instead of ingredients.

Here’s how it works:

Give each child the same crafting materials hidden under a cloche or in covered baskets, an objective (i.e. create a nature-themed craft), and a set amount of time to complete their creations.

Two baskets of craft supplies on table with markers, scissors and googly eyes on table.

On the count of three, start a timer, have each child reveal the craft supplies, and let the fun begin!

You can judge the crafts after the allotted time to determine a winner, or simply showcase each art piece if you prefer not to have winners and losers.
