Easy Recycled Spring Crafts for Kids

Bonus Craft Idea

Here’s a craft my kids did all the way back in 2020 that I haven’t had a chance to share until now!

They are the cutest napkin rings and egg holders made with egg cartons and toilet paper rolls.

You can get a better look at the original images here, but basically you paint the toilet paper roll and then use scissors to cut it to look like grass.

For the flowers, you cut the egg carton (you can use the shapes already naturally found in the egg carton) and then paint them.

The Best Materials for Recycled Kids Crafts

Cardboard boxes, egg cartons, and toilet paper rolls are probably the most popular recycled crafting materials. But, they aren’t the only great options for your spring projects.

Here are some less-expected ideas to add to your arsenal!

  • Plastic Bottles & Caps – Use for planters, wind chimes, or colorful flowers.
  • Old Magazines & Newspapers – Great for collage art, paper mâché, or origami.
  • Fabric Scraps & Old Clothes – Use for no-sew projects like puppets or stuffed animals.
  • Jar Lids & Bottle Caps – Make mini flower pots, painted decorations, or mosaic art.
  • Cereal Boxes – Turn them into greeting cards, bookmarks, or 3D decorations.
  • Tin Cans – Paint them for flower pots, lanterns, or pencil holders.
  • Used Greeting Cards – Cut out shapes for garlands, gift tags, or scrapbooking.
