I was SO excited to throw Mia’s 4th birthday party.

I found the cutest outfit for her that I planned the entire party around. Since Mia has a late October birthday, she’s always loved Halloween.

So instead of doing a scary Halloween birthday party, we did a groovy, spooky babe party and I’m so happy with how everything turned out!

Halloween Birthday Party Invitations

Light pink Halloween birthday party invitation with groovy ghost characters.

For the invitation, I found a design on Canva that I liked and just tweaked it a little to get it to look how I wanted.

The design I used is called Cream Cute Halloween Party Invitation.

Halloween Birthday Decor

The decor for Mia’s Halloween birthday party was my favorite! I was so happy with how everything came together.

The arch backdrop has been so fun and I’ve used it for several parties now. I just reapply the vinyl and get new lettering. It’s so easy to use! I loved using the theme “Here Four The Boo Crew.”

Everything came together with the big marquee letters, the groovy skeleton and the silver glitter vase filler on the tables. It was so fa-boo-lous and fun!

I found the pink table cloth and the haunted house at the dollar store and just painted them to match the party colors.

Halloween Party Food

The food was a little tricky because we no longer eat red dye in our home, but I found several pink and beige foods that were actually red dye free to make up the charcuterie treat boards I put together!

This had to be the girls’ favorite part of the party! They loved getting their own snacks and trying some of each different food.

Party Activities

Four sets of flower glasses with letter beads and floral charms that say spooky babe on them.

For the party activity, I let each of the girls decorate some spooky babe glasses. I had seen the idea on Pinterest and thought it would be so fun for them to make and take home. It got a little crazy with the glue lol, but most of the glasses turned out so cute!

Here are some other fun and age-appropriate ideas you can try:

  1. Outfit Parade:
    • Have the kids dress up in their grooviest Halloween outfits and host a mini parade. Play some fun Halloween music as they show off their outfits.
  2. Pumpkin Decorating:
    • Set up a pumpkin decorating station with mini pumpkins, stickers, markers, and other non-messy materials. This allows the kids to get creative without the need for carving.
  3. Spooky Story Time:
    • Gather the kids for a spooky (but not too scary) story time. Choose a Halloween-themed book that’s perfect for their age group, like “Room on the Broom” or “The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything.”
  4. Monster Mash Dance Party:
    • Play some kid-friendly Halloween songs and let the little ones dance around. You can teach them simple dance moves or let them freestyle to the music.
  5. Witch Hat Ring Toss:
    • Create a witch hat ring toss game using cone-shaped hats and glow stick rings. It’s an easy and entertaining game that the kids will enjoy.
  6. Spooky Scavenger Hunt:
    • Organize a simple scavenger hunt where the kids search for Halloween-themed items like plastic spiders, mini pumpkins, or glow-in-the-dark toys.
  7. Halloween Piñata:
    • Choose a Halloween-themed piñata filled with small toys and treats. Let the kids take turns trying to break it open for a fun surprise.
  8. Face Painting Station:
    • Set up a face painting station with simple designs like pumpkins, bats, or stars. Make sure to use non-toxic, kid-friendly face paint.

Party Favors

I went super simple with the party favors and found everything at the dollar section at Walmart! They had the cutest Halloween bags that I used to put the favors in including things like soft dough, pumpkin erasers, and cat ears. They also got to take home their glasses and whatever treats they didn’t finish!

Here are some additional cute and spooky party favor ideas for a Halloween-themed birthday party:

  1. Mini Plush Characters:
    • Soft, cuddly Halloween toys are perfect for little hands. These are both adorable and on-theme.
  2. Halloween-themed Stickers:
    • Packs of Halloween stickers featuring ghosts, pumpkins, and witches. Kids can use them for crafts or decorating at home.
  3. Glow-in-the-Dark Bracelets or Necklaces:
    • Glow sticks are always a hit with kids. They can wear them during the party and take them home for some after-dark fun.
  4. Pumpkin-shaped Cups:
    • Reusable cups or water bottles shaped like pumpkins or other Halloween characters. These are practical and fun.
  5. Spooky Storybooks:
    • Small, age-appropriate Halloween-themed books. “Room on the Broom” or “Five Little Pumpkins” are great options.
  6. Monster Finger Puppets:
    • Cute monster or Halloween character finger puppets that kids can use for imaginative play.
  7. Halloween Bath Bombs:
    • Bath bombs shaped like ghosts or other Halloween characters, perfect for making bath time fun and spooky.
  8. Candy-free Treat Bags:
    • Fill treat bags with non-candy items like mini coloring books, crayons, Halloween-themed stamps, and temporary tattoos.
